Clark Smith (born April 17, 1995) is an American swimmer who specializes in freestyle and butterfly. He earned an Olympic gold medal as a member of the United States Olympic 800m free relay.

Smith was a member of the 2015 University of Texas team that won the NCAA Division I Championship, winning the 500 yd freestyle.[3]

At the 2016 US Olympic Trials, Smith qualified for the 4x200 free relay, and earned a gold medal swimming in the preliminaries of that event in Rio.

He has held the American records in the 500 yards freestyle with a time of 4:08.42,[4] the 1000 yards freestyle with a time of 8:33.93,[5] and the 1650 yards freestyle with 14:22.41.[6] During the 2017 NCAA Championships at Indianapolis, Smith won two events, in the 500 yard freestyle and the 1650 yard freestyle, breaking the American records in each swim. Smith swam the third leg of an American record setting performance in the 800 yard freestyle relay with the University of Texas in 2017. In 2018 the American record was broken again by the University of Texas, this time without Smith.[7]
