|synonyms_ref = [2] |}}Cleome angustifolia, known as golden cleome, yellow cleome or yellow mouse whiskers[3], is an African species of plant in the Cleomaceae family. It is common along roadsides and in disturbed areas and is eaten as vegetable locally.[3] Swedish naturalist Peter Forsskål described C. angustifolia in 1775.[1][6] It is one of three species in genus Cleome (the others being C. gynandra and C. oxalidea) that independently acquired the {{C4}} pathway of carbon fixation. A species close to C. angustifolia, Cleome paradoxa, is {{C3}}–{{C4}} intermediate.References1. ^1 2 {{cite web |title=Siyabona Africa – Golden Cleome |year=2017 |url=http://www.krugerpark.co.za/africa_golden_cleome.html |accessdate=17 June 2018}} 2. ^1 {{cite web |title=Cleome angustifolia Forssk. – The Plant List |year=2018 |url=http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/kew-2727162 |accessdate=17 June 2018}} 3. ^1 {{cite web |title=Tropicos – Cleome angustifolia Forssk. |year=2018 |url=http://www.tropicos.org/Name/100313109 |accessdate=17 June 2018}} 4. ^1 2 {{cite book |title=Flora Aegyptiaco-Arabica |year=1775 |page=120 |language=Latin |doi=10.5962/bhl.title.41 |publisher=ex officina Mölleri |location=Hauniæ (Copenhagen)}}
