It will serve the western Melbourne suburb of Cobblebank. HistoryIn November 2017, the state government announced the station would be built with a scheduled late-2019 completion date.[1][2][3] Cobblebank name changeOn 26 October 2018 the designs for Cobblebank railway station were announced,[4]the name was also changed from Toolern to Cobblebank.[5] The design of Cobblebank railway station has provision for two express railway tracks,[6] which will most likely be laid after electrification works to Melton are complete.[7] Ballarat line upgradeConstruction of Cobblebank station including two side platforms, an accessible pedestrian overpass and carpark[8], expected to open in 2019, is part of the Victoria Government's Regional Rail Revival Ballarat Line Upgrade[9][10]. The upgrade includes duplication from Deer Park to Melton.
