释义 |
The Constitution (Amendment No. 20) Act, 1933 was an Act amending the Constitution of the Irish Free State, transferring from the Governor General to the Executive of the Free State the power to recommend the appropriation of money. It formed part of the constitutional programme of Fianna Fáil following its victory in the 1932 general election.[1] It amended Article 37 of the constitution which had provided previously that this function was carried out by the Governor General on the advice of the Executive.[2] Thus the change was symbolic in nature. The Act became obsolete on the repeal of the 1922 Constitution in 1937, and has formally been repealed by the Statute Law Revision Act 2016.[3] References1. ^http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/1933/act/40/enacted/en/html {{Ireland-stub}}2. ^http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/1922/act/1/enacted/en/print.html 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.oireachtas.ie/documents/bills28/bills/2016/1616/B16b16S.pdf |format=PDF |title=Statute Law Revision Bill 2016 |website=Oireachtas.ie |accessdate=2017-01-02}} 4 : Acts of the Oireachtas 1933|Constitution of the Irish Free State|Amendments to the Constitution of the Irish Free State|Ireland and the Commonwealth of Nations |
