DescriptionA small, sparse, shrubby species. Pointed/conical velvety leaves (8-15 mm long, lanceolate-linear) are sparsely spread along the stems. The leaves are light grey-green to yellow-green, succulent and easily break off. Its thin, wirey, twiggy stems are brittle and hard, with flaking strips of bark. The rare variety virgata is only found in the far western Namaqualand, and has smooth leaves on erect branches.
