Only one example was completed and it was built by CS Yachts in Canada, in 1985.[1][2][3] DesignThe CS 44 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with Kevlar and a balsawood core. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces {{convert|2000|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|9000|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of lead ballast.[1][2] The boat has a draft of {{convert|8.16|ft|m|abbr=on}} and is fitted with a Perkins Engines M-4108 diesel engine of {{convert|52|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}}.[1] The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 69 with a high of 69 and low of 69.
