Clopper is known for her work on dialect perception. She currently serves as co-editor of the journal Language and Speech[1] and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Phonetics.[2] Clopper is currently the vice president of the Association for Laboratory Phonology[3] until 2020, whereupon she will assume the role of president.{{Citation needed|date=October 2018}} EducationClopper holds a BA in Linguistics and Russian from Duke University.
