However, in the following year, within the context of the military dictatorship that ruled the country, Dani Yako was kidnapped by a commando of the Armed Forces of the Argentine Republic and was detained for three days in the Libertador Building. This led to his exile to Madrid.[2] Once there, he collaborated in a variety of media communications. He returned to Argentina in 1983, shortly before the restoration of democracy, and began to work as editor-in-chief of Agencia Diarios y Noticias, founded the year before. His works were published in Brazil and Germany, as well as in Agence France-Presse and Reuters. In December of the year, he managed to capture the last images of the writer Julio Cortázar walking in the centre of Buenos Aires, near Harrods.[3] In 1996 he began to work as editor at Clarín, where he currently is director of photography. In 2012, he received the Konex Award, and was given the Diploma of Merit in the field of visual arts.[4] References1. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.cadadiaunfotografo.com/2014/05/dani-yako.html|title=Dani Yako|access-date=2016-05-01|work=Cada día un fotógrafo|language=es}} {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Yako, Dani}}2. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/suplementos/radar/9-2555-2005-10-13.html|title=Ojos bien abiertos|access-date=2016-05-08|last=Sosa|first=Cecilia|date=2005-10-09|work=Página 12|language=es}} 3. ^{{Cite web |url=http://pasado.eldia.com/edis/20140826/La-despedida-Argentina-informaciongeneral4.htm |title=La despedida de Argentina |access-date=2016-05-08 |date=2014-08-26 |work=El Día |language=es |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160610020229/http://pasado.eldia.com/ed |archivedate=2016-06-10 |df= }} 4. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.fundacionkonex.com.ar/b4487-dani-yako|title=Dani Yako|access-date=2016-05-01|work=Fundación Konex|language=es}} 8 : 1955 births|Argentine architects|Argentine exiles|Argentine expatriates in Spain|Argentine journalists|Argentine photographers|Living people|People from Buenos Aires |
