Forsey started working for Mike Ashley at the age of 18, and continued for the next 32 years.[1] In 2015 Sports Direct subsidiary USC, a clothing retailer, went into administration. In the two preceding months leases for many of USC's stores were transferred to another subsidiary, Republic, and the USC trademark was transferred to another Sports Direct company.[2] In October 2015 Forsey was charged with a criminal offence for consultation failures over USC staff who only had 15 minutes notice of redundancy.[3][4] In September 2016, Forsey resigned as CEO, after 32 years with Sports Direct.[1][5][6] In May 2017 The Sunday Times reported that Forsey will be prosecuted over the collapse of USC. He had previously tried to block the prosecution through a judicial review.[7][8] References1. ^1 {{cite web|author=Ashley Armstrong |url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/09/23/mike-ashley-becomes-ceo-of-sports-direct-after-dave-forsey-resig/ |title=Mike Ashley becomes CEO of Sports Direct after Dave Forsey resigns |publisher=Telegraph.co.uk |date=23 September 2016 |accessdate=4 July 2017}} {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Forsey, Dave}}{{UK-business-bio-stub}}2. ^{{cite news |url=https://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/dec/11/revealed-how-sports-direct-stripped-usc-assets-before-it-collapsed |title=Revealed: how Sports Direct stripped USC assets before it collapsed |author=Simon Goodley |newspaper=The Guardian |date=11 December 2015 |accessdate=11 December 2015}} 3. ^{{cite news |url=https://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/oct/09/sports-direct-chief-executive-david-forsey-charged-usc-administration |title=Sports Direct chief executive charged over USC administration |author=Simon Goodley, Sarah Butler |newspaper=The Guardian |date=9 October 2015 |accessdate=11 December 2015}} 4. ^{{cite news |url=http://www.personneltoday.com/hr/company-directors-face-criminal-charges-over-redundancy-consultation-rules/ |title=Company directors face criminal charges over redundancies |author=Noel O'Reilly |newspaper=Personnel Today |date=21 October 2015 |accessdate=11 December 2015}} 5. ^{{cite web|author=23 September 2016 at 7:19am |url=http://www.itv.com/news/2016-09-23/chief-executive-dave-forsey-resigns-from-sports-direct/ |title=Chief executive Dave Forsey resigns from Sports Direct - ITV News |publisher=Itv.com |date=23 September 2016 |accessdate=4 July 2017}} 6. ^{{cite web|author=Julia Kollewe |url=https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/sep/23/sports-direct-mike-ashley-step-in-after-ceo-resigns |title=Sports Direct: Mike Ashley steps in after CEO Dave Forsey resigns | Business |publisher=The Guardian |date= |accessdate=4 July 2017}} 7. ^{{cite news |url=https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/forsey-to-stand-trial-c9zzl2m7r |title=Forsey to stand trial |last=Shah |first=Oliver |newspaper=Sunday Times |location=London |subscription=yes |date=21 May 2017 |accessdate=16 March 2019}} 8. ^{{cite news |url=https://www.drapersonline.com/news/ex-sports-direct-ceo-to-stand-trial/7021113.article |title=Ex-Sports Direct CEO to stand trial |last=Geoghegan |first=Jill |website=Drapers |date=22 May 2017 |accessdate=16 March 2019}} 3 : Living people|British chief executives|Year of birth missing (living people) |
