The Democratic Majority For Israel is a lobbying group that advocates pro-Israel and progressive policies to the Congress and Executive Branch of the United States. The current President and CEO of the Democratic Majority for Israel, is renowned polster, Mark Mellman.[1] Democratic Majority of Israel was founded in 2019.

History

The Democratic Majority for Israel was founded in 2019 following the election of Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar to Congress. They are both supporters of the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions Movement against Israel to Congress. The founding also came as a result of polling showing that liberals and younger voters are less sympathetic to Israel.[2]

Political Message

The Democratic Majority for Israel aims to push for Pro-Israel and progressive policies. In regard to Israel, the Democratic Majority for Israel works to maintain, strengthen and support Israel among progressive and Democratic leaders. They also work to ensure Israel has the resources to defend their citizens, fight efforts to isolate, stigmatize or delegitimize Israel including the BDS Movement, promote a two-state solution with the Palestinians through direct bilateral negotiations and encourage American global leadership.
