词条 | Domenico Cachia |
释义 |
Domenico Cachia was involved in the dismantling of Girolamo Cassar's original Auberge de Castille in 1741, and subsequently the construction of a new auberge to designs of Andrea Belli. He was a capomastro of the Manoel Foundation from 1745 to 1761.[1] Cachia is sometimes also attributed with the designs of St Helen's Basilica in Birkirkara (1740),[2] the Selmun Palace in Mellieħa (date unknown)[3] and the Church of St. Augustine in Valletta (1765–94), but there is no documentary evidence of his involvement.[1] References1. ^1 2 {{cite book|last1=Schiavone|first1=Michael J.|title=Dictionary of Maltese Biographies Vol. 1 A-F|date=2009|publisher=Pubblikazzjonijiet Indipendenza|location=Pietà|isbn=9789993291329|page=379}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Cachia, Domenico}}{{Malta-stub}}2. ^{{cite book|last1=Hughes|first1=Quentin|authorlink1=Quentin Hughes (architect)|title=Fortress: Architecture and Military History in Malta|date=1969|publisher=Lund Humphries|isbn=9789993210146|page=194|url=https://books.google.com/books?redir_esc=y&id=KYdoAAAAMAAJ&dq=st+helen+church+b+kara&focus=searchwithinvolume&q=cachia}} 3. ^{{cite journal|last1=Spiteri|first1=Stephen C.|title=In Defence of the Coast (I) – The Bastioned Towers|journal=Arx – International Journal of Military Architecture and Fortification|date=2013|issue=3|page=115|url=http://www.militaryarchitecture.com/index.php/Journals/arx-occasional-papers-in-defence-of-the-coast-i.html|accessdate=26 June 2016}} 4 : 1690 births|1761 deaths|18th-century Maltese architects|Architects of Roman Catholic churches |
