The 1913 Open Prose Contest is an annual contest of 1913 A Journal of Forms, a journal that publishes the "baddest in poetry, poetics, prose, & their intersections with the arts of all forms in handsome book-as-art-object fashion."[1] The first four issues of A Journal of Forms were solicit only, and book submissions operated similarly. The editors wanted to find work that was more unique so they created a contest submissions to find works that would not normally have been found otherwise.
