He is the Superintendent of Police of Dantewada district of Chhatisgarh , India which is a Left Wing Extremism affected area. Pallava is an IPS officer of 2013 Batch.[4] He is known for his unique and humanitarian approach of policing. Being a doctor, he treats the tribals with ill health and saves them from naxalites through bullets.[7] He came to limelight when He treated a maoist whom he himself had shot at. [8] [9] He also treated wife and polio stricken kids of a naxalite.[10][11]Early LifeAbhishek Pallava was born to Mr. Rishi Kumar and Mrs. Asha Devi in Begusarai. His father was in army , so he had passion for uniform. [12] He attended Kendriya Vidyalya No 1 Vasco Da Gama , Goa for his school education. He then went to Goa Medical College for earning an MBBS degree. He further went to AIIMS, New Delhi for studying MD in Psychiatry. He joined Indian Police Service in 2013 [13] through Civil Service Examination. Personal LifeHe is married to Dr. Yasha Upendra. She is a Dantewada based doctor. They have a five year old son. [14] Notable WorksHe has been very helpful to tribals and worked for tribal welfare in the region. He had also published few research papers on the health, physiology and psychology of tribals of Naxal infested areas.[15] Pallava came to limelight when he treated a wounded maoist whom he himself had shot at. [16] He was praised for his humanitarian work and his excellency was acknowledged by many organisations worldwide. He has also helped the victims of naxal violence to prepare for the competitive exams and shown them paths for successful future. He had conducted many community policing programs to foster community-police partnerships.
