Adrienne Haslet is an award-winning dancer and motivational speaker whose was injured during the Boston Marathon bombing.[1] Despite the amputation of her left leg as a result of the bombing,[2] she decided to continue her dancing career.[3] A prosthetic, bionic leg was designed for her by Hugh Herr[4] and she was able to return to dancing.[5] She also completed the 2016 Boston Marathon.[6][7] She was featured in a 2014 TED talk.[8] In 2019, Haslet was hit by a car.[9]She needed several surgeries on her shoulder but still hopes to run in the 2019 Boston Marathon.[10] References |
