He is the head football coach at FC Flora U19 (FC Flora III) in Esiliiga B, Estonia. Afşın was previously the football coach at Seferihisar SK, Izmir from 2012 to 2017. He is a former player at Seferihisar SK too. He studied at Bornova Anatolian High School in Izmir. And started to study first in Munich at Ludwig Maximilian University, Germany but continued in Turkey and graduated International Relations from Anadolu University. Afşın is also licensed tourist guide since 2006. In his student ages he was working as a tour guide.
