| 释义 | Mohammad Akram Rahi more known as Akram Rahi is a Pakistani Folk Singer, songwriter and composer. He was born in the village of Talwandi Inayat Khan, District: Sialkot, Tehsil: Pasrur, Pakistan on 25 December, 1969 and also holds ILR for United Kingdom. In 1993 he was awarded the "King Of Folk" by Master Abdullah in Pakistan. He currently has 152+ Fresh Audio Albums which is a World Record. He is well known for his songs "Meley Lagdey Rehan Gey", "Kachi Pencil", "Maa Mari Tey Rishtey", "Luk Luk Duniya Tun", "Teri Galli Vichun" & "Ja Ni Tun Khushiyan Maney". Early life, events & musical career: Mohammad Akram Rahi was born on 25th December 1969 in the village of Talwandi Inayat Khan, District: Sialkot, Tehsil: Pasrur, Pakistan. He is the son of Ghulam Haider Bajwa and Maqbul Begum. He has 2 brothers and 3 sisters. His cast is Jutt Bajwa. He got his primary education from “Primary School of Talwandi Inayat Khan”, middle education from “Nowshera Kakazai” and higher education from “No. 2 School Pasrur” till 9th grade and then left further education. He belonged to a poor family. In his early years he worked with his family as a farmer and later forcefully had to leave his village for his passion of singing and went to Lahore. He started learning about his passion for music in the young and early age of 17 in 1985. For 4 years he continued to learn about music from different music teachers. During his stay in Lahore, due to his needs for money for food and learning music, he started working and did local jobs from the level of labour for different people to a Mazda driver and conductor and earned/collected money to record his first album. He recorded his first album in the studio of EMI Recording Company, Mall Road, Lahore, Pakistan in exchange of money his earned from the jobs he did. He was himself the lyricist of many songs of that album. He also produced and composed that album entirely himself. It was recorded in about 4 hours and the total length of that album was 1 hour with 9 tracks in it. His first album “Dard Ka Rahi - Akram Rahi” was released in the December of 1989 by PMC (Only Physical Rights Granted To Them) which was later named “Ja Ni Tun Khushiyan Maney” because of the popularity of the song in that album. The album was a huge and successful hit in Pakistan and is regarded one of the best sellers of that time. The demand for the album for so high among the people that usually cassette tapes at that time were transported from Karachi to Lahore through train but this album was transported through air using airplanes from Karachi to Lahore. Akram Rahi’s first album made him into a superstar of Pakistan. Later because of the Mercy of Allah, the demand for his songs increased so much that he had to release an album every month. Then another time came that he had to release 2-4 albums per month. In the year of 1997, 4 labels together planned & decided to release his albums on the same day so they could flop the artist as people would not be able/afford to buy 4 four albums of the same day. Heera Cassette, Tip Top, Eagle Stereo, Sonic. These 4 companies bought the physical distribution rights for 4 albums (1 per each company) from Akram Rahi to release on the same day to flop him and they did the same but Allah again showered his mercy on him and all those 4 albums went hit among the country. Later these labels specially called Akram Rahi to say sorry to him and told him what they had planned for him but said that Allah is merciful on you and we will not do this again. Akram Rahi also has the record for most albums released on a single day which refers to the event mentioned above. The songs sung by Akram Rahi are also sung by various artist around the world such as Madam Noor Jehan sung “Saiyaan Sadey Naal” which was originally sung by Akram Rahi in 1996 for a film called Dam Mast Kalander/Aalmi Gunday. Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi, Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal, Sonu Nigam and many artists also sung songs which were sung by Akram Rahi which if we compile becomes a long list. In the history of India and Pakistan, Akram Rahi is the first folk singer whose song is picturised on the artist himself in an Indian-punjabi movie named “Darra”. He has also sung a song named “Iha Kajle Waali Akh” for a Pakistani Film “Danda Peer” which was one of the last films of Pakistani legendary actor “Sultan Rahi”. He has also worked as a host and singer in a musical TV show named “Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Kay”. It was the most profitable musical TV show in the history of Pakistan. Till Today, Akram Rahi has completed 30 years of his singing. He is also regarded as the “Singer of the 3rd generation” as the musicians who play with Akram Rahi are the grandsons of the people who originally played with Akram Rahi at the start of his career. Akram Rahi has also composed, written and sung many Na’aats which include: “Rabba Kar Manzur Duawaan”, “Parho La Ila Ha”, “Madiney Nu Jaandeyan Rahiya”. Family: He is married to Sabin Akram. He has 4 children named Ammar Akram, Hammad Akram, Maham Akram and Fiza Akram.
