Alexander Michael Khait, (Александр Михайлович Хайт (Russian); אלקסנדר חייט (Hebrew); February 16, 1939, Moscow - April 2, 2017, Netanya, Israel), was an award-winning Russian/Israeli filmmaker. Active from 1959 to 1989, Alexander Khait worked as an executive producer and second unit film director with legendary Russian film directors, including Grigori Chukhrai, Georgiy Danelia, Mark Zakharov, Sergey Yutkvich, Roland Bykov and many others. Alexander Khait is notably known for being the executive producer of "Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future"..[1]

Many of Alexander Khait's films received major international awards including, among others, at the Cannes Film Festival[2]. His filmography as an executive producer embodies over 30 films, including Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future (Иван Васильевич меняет профессию), There Was an Old Couple (Жили-были старик со старухой), Memory (Память), Untypical Story (Трясина), Life Is Beautiful (Жизнь прекрасна), The Passport (Паспорт), Lenin in Paris (Ленин в Париже), Scarecrow (Чучело), Dead Man's Letters (Письма Мертвого Человека) and many others. From 1989 to 1995 Alexander became a Vice President of Roland Bykov Foundation, an international charity organization for the advancement of children's film and television in Russia.[1][3][4][5][6]

Alexander Khait was a nephew of a famous Russian music composer, Julius Khait (Ю́лий Абра́мович Хайт (3 [15] November 1897, Kiev — 6 December 1966, Moscow)[7]
