BiographyAlexander Scheer attended the East Berlin Georg Friedrich Handel Gymnasium with a focus on music. In addition to singing, he played in various bands piano and drums. He left after the 11th grade from the school and went to changing professional pursuits. He also appeared in this period as a performer in product advertising and turned with friends own amateur films. During a casting he was discovered by director Leander Haußmann, who cast him in his film Sonnenallee. After the shooting Scheer Haussmann followed the Schauspielhaus Bochum. There he played in plays such as Much Ado About Nothing, Leonce and Lena and The Tempest.As a result, he worked with directors such as Christoph Marthaler, Frank Castorf and Stefan Pucher and appeared in productions such as "Berlin Alexanderplatz" and "The Idiot" at the Volksbühne Berlin and "Die Möwe" at the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. For his acting performance, he was awarded the Ulrich Wildgruber Prize. For the embodiment of the English Shakespeare actor Edmund Kean in Frank Castorf's eponymous stage production of 2009, Alexander Scheer was voted actor of the year by Theater Heute. In addition to his theatrical engagements, he has also starred in national and international film productions such as Viktor Vogel - Commercial Man, The Wild Life, Mrs. Ratcliffe's Revolution, or Carlos - The Jackal, which celebrated its successful premiere at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.For the preparation for the presentation of Keith Richards in the movie The Wild Life Scheer founded the band The Rockboys, which played a summer long concerts. In 2007 he joined as a guitarist with Jan Opoczynski in his band The International Competition. The following year he was frontman of the Vienna band Gruppe Pegel. In 2009 he toured Europe as a percussionist with The Whitest Boy Alive. In 2012 he appeared as Mephisto in Goethe's tragedy Faust I.In Andreas Dresens biopic Gundermann about the East German singer-songwriter, rock musician and excavator leader Gerhard Gundermann Scheer played the title role.
