Ali Asaad (Arabic: علي أسعد) is a Syrian composer, guitarist, singer and musicologist. He was born on 30.11.1987 in Lattakia, Syria. Early Life and EducationAli grew up in a scientific family, in which art and music weren't their major interests. However, they noticed Ali's passion to music and registered him for piano lessons since the age of 6. His father, dr. Imad Asaad is a general surgeon and his mother Furat Hwaijah is a school teacher. Later in his life, Ali developed a passion for Classical guitar and started having private lessons. He also tried to find materials on the internet as well as reading books searching for answers about musical theory which actually mark the beginning of Ali as a composer.[1] After finishing high school, Ali studied one year in the faculty of pharmacy. The year after, Ali changed his mind to study Civil Engineering. He was unhappily doing that in an attempt to conform to the society's norms, but this struggle didn't last for a long time. His talent refused to stay hidden since Music for Ali wasn't just a hobby or something he is interested in, it was rather his addiction, his real love that he is ready to sacrifice everything for it. He wanted to study music academically and for that he contacted Syrian pianist and composer Gaswan Zerikly and had lessons with him in Lattakia and Damascus. In 2010, Ali left Syria to follow his dream and studied with professor Ahmet Kanneci in Ankara State Conservatory – classical guitar department, Hacettepe University, Ankara. After studying Classical guitar for three years in Ankara, he went for an internship in Paganini Conservatorio in Genoa, Italy to write his own composition for classical guitar and string quartet. In 2013, Ali got a scholarship to study in Karl-Franzens University of Graz, Austria. Co-enrollment in Graz University of Music, Austria.
