Anand AnnamalaiAnand Annamalai , popularly known in literary circle as Malawi Anand, is an Indian author, Poet, screenplay writer and Film director. He is a versatile writer in contemporary Tamil literature, and one of the sought out modern day screen writers in Kollywood. His Collaborations with director M.Manikandan took high notice and acclaim in Tamil Film Industry. . He is all set to helm a major movie in Telugu with a leading star cast and production house backing the project. Personal Life and EducationBorn in Chennai, he was brought up in Mayiladhuthurai, a small town in the present day Nagapattinam District, Tamil Nadu. African DaysAt the age of 24 he moved on to Africa. Working in Industrial Sector in a high authoritative position he started publishing videos, albums representing African life. Most of his works till date in Tamil literature are either geographically based in Africa or tend to have African characters, with central theme either directly or indirectly representing the era of globalization and one world gestures. His works have been represented and used to study the intercultural and comparative life style interface between Tamil rooted community and Chichewa speaking Community. Though he had never taken any pen name so far, he had been lovingly nick named by his readers and users as Malawi Anand. However after creating a short legacy for himself from Africa, he had chosen to be back in Chennai for his other pursuits. Bibliography1.
