Biographie

Andrei Nikolkov's father escaped the Stalinist purges.

Andrei spent a year studying geography in London while moving towards journalism.

Back in the USSR, he became a translator for the army, specializing in English and Arabic dialect.

In 1982 he is sent to the Afghan front where he dies as a result of an injury to the heart during the Battle of Pandjchir.

He wrote a single book, the manuscript of which was hidden by the author in Afghanistan at Pandjchir just before the outbreak of an attack. The book's reputation comes from the dramatic disappearance of his manuscript as well as his story of anticipation close to the SF universe of the Strugatski brothers.

== The Zelot continuum ==

The lost novel by Andrei Nikolkov is entitled "The Zelot continuum". It was written in English language.

Preparatory studies found in Moscow indicate that this is the story of a surveyor who, after a global catastrophe, finds himself alone on earth. He travels the deserted world and invents a new lonely humanity through his Continuum de Zelot.

The mysterious reputation of this manuscript having grown over the years, some people have been following in the footsteps of this book lost in Afghanistan, buried under a house according to some sources, but could find nothing. The Zelot Continuum Society was created in 1987 by admirers of Andrei Nikolkov to perpetuate his memory and try to revive his work despite his passing. For some, it is like a secret society dedicated to the cause of a mysterious book with post-apocalyptic theme.
