Anita Rogers is an English art dealer and owner of Anita Rogers Gallery in SoHo, New York. Since opening its doors in 2016, Anita Rogers Gallery has shown work from painters and sculptors, both figurative and abstract. The gallery garnered press early on for its exhibitions of work by artists Virva Hinnemo[1] and George Negroponte.[2] In 2017, it was named one of the Top Art Galleries in SoHo by Travel Mag[3] and has since been written about in Wall Street International,[4][5][6] ArtNet News,[6] Arte Fuse[8] and other publications.

Biography

Rogers was born in Swanage, Dorset in the United Kingdom to first generation British parents. Her mother is the daughter of Karel Schwarz, a Czech refugee who made a name for himself as an entrepreneur and small business owner in London. Her father is Jack Martin Rogers, a fine artist who worked in a variety of styles and mediums. Growing up in Greece and Turkey, Rogers was exposed to art and music at a young age and first began singing at the age of nine, accompanied by her father, who played the lute, bouzouki and guitar.[7]

Rogers later trained as a classical harpist and opera singer.[7] Prior to her permanent move to New York City, Anita performed in Italy, Ireland, Greece and England. Rogers holds a degree in Ethnomusicology from The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) as well as a degree in Western Classical Composition from King’s College London.

In 2012, Rogers founded British American Household Staffing, the nation's leading domestic staffing agency. BAHS provides staff for high-end homes and crew for super-yachts around the world.[8] In an interview with Town & Country Magazine, Rogers shares her expertise on hiring "formally trained estate managers, personal assistants, chauffeurs, governesses, butlers and baby nurses."[9] BAHS is headquartered in NYC with offices in LA, as well as Miami and London. BAHS provides staff to clients who live and work on the east and west coasts of the US, the UK, St. Bart’s, the Mediterranean, Switzerland, the Bahamas, Monaco and other holiday destinations.[10]

After many years spent in the entertainment industry as a professional singer, Rogers founded British American Talent Management, a talent management firm that represents a roster of UK born and trained actors, as well as a select group of American performers. The firm is headquartered in Los Angeles and New York City, representing an established and eclectic variety of highly talented, on-the-cusp artists.
