Annunciation Orthodox School is a Private Greek Orthodox school in Houston,Texas. The school (also known as AOS) who was the creation of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral across the street. The school is a part of the non-profit organization Houston Area Independent Schools (HAIS) pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade. The school started the demolition and the creation of a new lower school. The school is located on Yoakum Street, in the Neartown area of Houston. {{AFC submission|t||ts=20190129172334|u=Davionia|ns=118|demo=}} School History - 1970- The school is first opened up in the Cathedrals' educational building, as an early childhood center adding a grade each year.
- 1988- The school starts expansion beyond the Cathedrals' facilities, buying the property across the intersection and building the Jesse H. and Mary Gibbs Jones Early Childhood Development Center.
- 1992- After fundraising and many donations from Houston area foundations the school raise 5 million dollars and builds a middle school.
- 1993- The year after the construction of the middle school the school builds the Katherine E. Veletsos Lower School for kindergarten through fourth grade.
- 1996- The Steve G. Caloudas Activity Center is built as a gymnasium and a building for school performances. AOS exceed the $800,000 goal by more than $200,000.
- 2002- AOS opens a new 64,000 square foot main building, renovates the lower school, and adds a new athletic field. Founding Head Katherine Veletsos retires. Mark Kelly is named Head of School.
Athletics Annunciation Orthodox School is a member of the HJPC, or the Houston Junior Preparatory Conference, an athletic conference consisting of eleven private schools in the Houston area.
