Ann Jane Arko – Gorchakova, professionally known as Anny, is a Russian and Ghanaian singer, film and television actress, songwriter, designer, model, philanthropist and ambassador of UNICEF.

Personal life

Ann Jane Arko – Gorchakova was born on November 18, 2001, in Moscow (Russia) in a mixed family. Her father is a descendant of Alexander Mikhailovich Gorchakov, Chancellor of the Russian Empire and later Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire, he continued the dynasty’s activity in the field of foreign affairs.

Mother is a descendant Crowned African Princess, of the Supreme King of the Fanti people, one of the titled nations of the Republic of Ghana. One of the well-known members of this Ghanaian aristocratic family is the 7th Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Kofi Atta Annan and the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate of 2001.

As a child, Anny loved and practiced ballet, pro-ballroom dancing, horse riding, figure skating, tennis, and diving. From an early age, she showed interest in music and art. Even as a child, she participated in various sports, vocal and dance competitions and repeatedly took prizes. Throughout the school years, she constantly took part in various artistic performances, where everyone noticed her eccentricity and artistry.

At the age of five years, mother took Anny to the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. Visiting the museum made a strong impression on the girl that mother had to sign up her for several arts programs: fine art under the direction of Natalia Bocharova, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia; art history under the direction of Zakharova Irina, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, member of the Moscow Union of Artists; sculpture and ceramics under the direction of Marina Kovalenko, a member of the association of Moscow sculptors of the Union of Artists of Russia. In the museum, she has been studying for more than 10 years. During this time her works: drawings, sculptures, murals and bas-reliefs, vases, essays on art criticism were repeatedly exhibited at the Pushkin Museum and the museums of Italy, Germany, England, the Netherlands, and Ghana. Many works were awarded international diplomas and awards. Manufactured by Anny the bowl of Japanese technique Raku, after the master class of the head of the dynasty of Raku Kitsidaemon XV, was presented to E.P. Mr. Toyohis Codzuki Ambassador of Japan to the Russian Federation.

Since 2009 Anny has been carried away by the design of clothes. Inspired by the nature and bright colors of West Africa, she created a collection of women’s clothing called “The Breath of Africa”, based on tropical ornaments and prints. In March 2014, this collection was presented at the competition of young designers in the Netherlands. The jury unanimously awarded the first place and Grand Prix of the festival to Anny, noting her deserved success and an unusual combination of traditions and modern art.

Career in Music and TV

After the success of the African collection of dresses, Anny was invited to become the host of “Kinder MUZ Awards 2015” together with Nikolay Baskov, Maxim Galkin and Yana Rudkovskaya in the State Kremlin Palace in her designer outfits, the images of which formed the basis for the idea and script of the award.

On November 29, 2015, the third ceremony of the Kids Music Awards “Kinder MUZ Awards 2015” was held, and on December 19, 2015, the video version of the Awards was shown on the air of MUZ-TV. It was Anny’s first debut on the big stage.^[1]

Yana Rudkovskaya invited Anny to become the host of the program “Kids Ten with Yana Rudkovskaya” on the channel MUZ-TV. And since December she has been pleased with the viewers of the channel every morning of Sunday until June 2016.

On June 23, 2017, the RTV TV channel invited Anny together with Ivan Chuikov to host the graduation party for school children the “Graduation 2017” in Gostiny Dvor and to celebrate the adulthood with Moscow graduates.
