The APEC Privacy Framework is a set of principles and implementation guidelines created by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation to facilitate privacy-respecting flows of personal data among the 21 APEC economies. It was first published in 2005 and updated in 2015. It underpins the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) System for information sharing.[1] APEC Privacy Framework (2005)The original 2005 APEC Privacy Framework was modelled on the 1980 OECD Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data. The 2005 APEC Privacy Framework contains nine principles.
The APEC Privacy Framework was updated in 2015.
