The six-foot-two Pajanor (pronounced Pazhanoor) who prefers flamboyant safari suits to the red and black bordered dhotis of his partymen, is a lawyer by profession.Pazhanoor, who was an AIADMK MP, had served as Petroleum Minister in the Cabinet of Charan Singh in 1979. A native of Thiruvettakudi village in Karaikal, he represented Puducherry twice in the Lok Sabha. Aravinda Bala Udayar was a member of the fifth and sixth Lok Sabha. He was also the first person from a Dravidian party to become Union Minister from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He was 78 and is survived by his wife, a son and daughter, all of whom have settled in the USA. Pazhanoor shifted to the USA a decade ago and his body would be laid to rest there on March 27.
