Founded in 2013, the team designs, develops and manufactures electric racecars that compete in the Formula Student competitions around the globe. The TeamBackgroundAristotle University Racing Team Electric, also known as Aristurtle, is a research student team of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The team’s department is the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Aristotle University and its members are undergraduate students from various scientific fields. These include Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Physics and Economics. StructureThroughout the entire construction process, responsible for the electrical and control systems that will be integrated into the vehicle are three Electrical System Advisors, PhD students in the Electrical Machines Laboratory of the Department. The team’s members are dιvided into 8 subgroups according to their field of studies and talents. All of them are coordinated and organized by the team captain. PurposeAristurtle’s goal is to design and build electric race cars in order to compete in the international Formula Student competitions against universities from all over the world. Preparing towards this goal its members work in a fully structured professional environment. The team’s vision is to contribute to the upgrading of new technologies in the electric automotive field, in Greece and worldwide, by researching and getting in touch with high-level innovative products and pioneering ideas. [2] HistoryAristurtle participates in Formula Student competitions since 2014. In 2016, Aristurtle built the first ever electric race car in Northern Greece, "Electra". Only a year later, the team successfully completed a second better, faster, stronger race car, Eve.
