Arthur Ware JuniorArthur Ware Junior (born 1914) was an American classical surrealist artist. HistoryArthur Ware, Jr. was born in 1914 in Manhattan, New York to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ware Sr. His father was a prominent architect and professor at Beaux Arts, where his son was raised with an eye for artistic beauty– quickly taking to painting in his teenage years. He traveled frequently as a staff artist in World War II, most importantly to China where he would develop the style of classical surrealist painting that defined his most notable works.[1] Education and AccomplishmentsFollowing the war, Ware continued to hone his craft in New York, returning to the Art Students League and enrolling in the Grand Central School of Art. During that time, he also took up a residence in Provincetown, Massachusetts to study at the Frazier School of Painting. Ware would return to New York after this short stint; being from a wealthy family, he did not have to work and was able to dedicate the entirety of his career to his art. Spectators quickly took notice of this burgeoning talent, holding exhibitions of his work at prestigious NYC venues such as the Burr Gallery, the Salmagundi Club and Caravan House Gallery. Perhaps his most public work of art came in the form of a mural for the 1964 NY World Fair: his large rendition of London’s Crystal Palace was prominently displayed at the Top of the Fair restaurant in the bustling Port Authority Building.[2] References1. ^ 1 {{cite web |title=Biography |url=http://arthurwarejrart.com/ |website=Arthur Ware Junior |accessdate=25 October 2018}}2. ^ 1 |
