As of November 2015, the town had an estimated population of 14,070, and a population density of 67.5 persons per km². The total area is {{convert|208.38|km²|0|abbr=out}}.==Geography==Yuza is located in the extreme northwest of Yamagata Prefecture, bordering on Akita Prefecture to the north and the Japan Sea on the west.
