| 释义 | Lawrence Matthew Sinnott a.k.a B3NNYTHAK$DD is an American rapper, singer, composer and record producer. Born in the suburbs of Washington D.C. called Woodbridge, VA. At 11 years old, being influenced by Eminem, B3NNY started freestyling to his mother as she wrote down the lyrics of what he said. Growing up he was raised in sports and his parents were dedicated to creating a famous ball player. They put him in training camps, travel teams, and little leagues since the age of 5 years old. Being brought up in sports developed a hunger for success and a mindset that told him no accomplishment is impossible to reach. The summer before his 7th grade year, the boundary to his middle school changed from Woodbridge to Lakeridge Middle School. Little did he know moving to a different school would change his life forever. The very first day of 7th grade in a new school, a new class, with new students, a young man by the name of “Norris Lavon Scott” a.k.a “Stylez” introduced himself. Knowing absolutely nothing about B3NNY, Norris decided to bring him to each class that day to ensure B3NNY made it on time. After that day the rest is history. In 2010 B3NNY started recording his first songs at ‘Stylez’ apartment right down the street from their high school. Each day they left school early giving them time to record before ‘Stylez’ father returned home from work. From that moment on music became a ritual for the young men, constantly creating new music and manifesting their craft. At 15 years old, ‘Stylez’ presented B3NNY with the opportunity to perform at a Benefit Concert for Haiti their high school was hosting. This was B3NNY’s first time being in front of a crowd but after stepping out on the stage, he then knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. At 18 years old B3NNY made a decision to move to Florida where he sought out opportunity for his music. Many promises were made that were never kept. Despite being let down, it didn’t shy him from pursuing his passion. He then attended Seminole Community College to earn his GED and start classes to Major in Music/Recording Arts. March 4th, 2014, while B3NNY was getting his education, one day coming back from home cut that opportunity short. The young ambitious dreamer was mugged from behind as he tried to open up his apartment door. Being struck over the head multiple times with baseball bats and lettered brass knuckles, to the point where he was unrecognizable in blood. B3NNY was continuously hit trying to block his face from the attackers as he screamed in panic for help. The neighbor below heard his dog non-stop barking and decided to see what was going on. When he came out he witnessed the two attackers who fled after he yelled out “HEY!!”. B3NNY was then transported to the hospital in Sanford, FL where he received multiple stitches, staples, and glue on different parts of his head. As a result of nearly losing his life, he had no other choice but to move to Tampa, FL. He then began to have very intense PTSD, constantly being paranoid about his surroundings and each corner he now turned. The doctor prescribed him a heavy dosage of an anti anxiety medication known as Xanax, which inevitably turned into an addiction. Only two months later he noticed he started losing track of his life and took it upon himself to flush his entire prescription. Battling with withdrawals and depression, he knew he had to overcome this pain in order to continue moving forward. The fight for survival clouded his mind causing him to lose focus on writing music. His head would ache from hearing loud sounds and his jaw would crack whenever he tried opening his mouth. Discouraged, it made B3NNY lose sight of what he was devoted to doing. 3 months later his grandfather passed away from ALS, an awful degenerative disease. Rightfully, he wanted to make his grandfather proud by going back to school and receiving his GED/Diploma, which he finally did. Living at the time in Tampa, FL he attended Saint Petersburg College afterwards Majoring in Recording Arts. Unfortunately going to School and not working enough hours were not paying the bills, giving B3NNY no choice but to drop out. An opportunity arose for him to work at a Sales Consultant for Lexus and without blinking he accepted. The comfortable 9-5 he finally accepted and felt as if he was complacent for the time being. A couple years later on September 30th, 2017 one of his close childhood friends Terry Cunningham was killed in a tragic car accident. Immediately he made the decision to move back home to VA, because he felt life was too short to be away from everyone he knew and loved. As soon as Lawrence moved back he started working for another Lexus dealership and again putting his music on the back burner because he needed the money to help his (now) single mother. Working 110 hours a week on average he barely had time to sleep at home let alone pursue his passion. November 22nd, 2017 the day before thanksgiving the one person who believed, pursued, and created the dream left this earth to be with the big man upstairs. Norris Lavon Scott Jr. a.k.a ‘Stylez’ was killed in the passenger seat of a speeding vehicle that lost control. B3NNY lost it, and could not believe his worst nightmare was actually happening. That day was another Major turning point. Each morning he woke up now, frustrated because he was no longer pursuing that dream. All of his time was going into work without progression in his life which drove him into a dark place. Music was all he wanted to do now and he didn’t even have the time to write a song, let alone record. It has been years at this point since he had recorded and had no idea where to even start. His best friend/ hype man / brother was longer able to give him the direction he needed. June 25th, 2018 B3NNY took a chance and resigned from Lexus to Pursue his Career in Music, giving it 120%. 3 months and 4 days later he released his first ever mixtape “Wonder Bread and Olive oil” where he has received over 3k plays in just a matter of days with no paid Advertisement. As he is said in his song “TH3 KITCH3N” “this is just the start”. There will much more coming from THAK$DD, he just laid down his first brick. |
