| 释义 | The Battle of Tbilisi took place on 16–25 February 1921 during the Soviet invasion of Georgia. On 16 February 1921 the 11th Red Army invaded Georgia and quickly seized bordering Red Bridge. Some clashes occurred between Soviets and Georgian People's Guard, which was under commanding of Stepane Akhmeteli. The explosion of Foilo Bridge mined by Georgian troops significantly damaged Soviets' armored vehicles. Nevertheless, Soviet Army captured several villages and reached Tbilisi. Main battles took place on the heights of Kojori and Tabakhmela, suburbs of Tbilisi. On 24 February Soviet forces were strengthened through rebuilt Folio Bridge and started decisive offensive on Tbilsi. On 25 February Georgian authorities left Tbilisi and moved to Mtskheta. Soviets finally besieged the capital city of Georgia and declared establishing of Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic.
