In December 2016, they released their first single [https://soundcloud.com/benjiandmike/the-plug The Plug], and released a music video for the track a few months later (which has since been deleted from YouTube) receiving mixed criticism. In May 2017, the duo released their debut album [https://soundcloud.com/benjiandmike/the-mixtape THE MIXTAPE.], which gained hundreds of plays on SoundCloud and gained good reviews. In June 2017, a [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWErj2KoSHQ music video] for "HATERS GONNA HATE (feat. JonanTheBarzbarian)" was released to YouTube. In July 2017, they released another single titled "Distractions (feat. JonanTheBarzbarian)" which would go on to become the duo's most popular track, reaching 18,000 plays, 1,000 streams, and 100 downloads on multiple streaming services. Multiple live concerts and events were performed by Benji & Mike in the following months, despite the duo slipping away from creating more music. In March 2018, they released a single titled "Prosper (feat.
