The south side of the Bergen Ridge is called the Berger Hang.^[1] The Berger Hang is the northern bank of an old branch of the Main river. Its geographic situation gives it a mild and warm microclimate.^[2] Once covered with vinyards, the Berger Hang is now one of Frankfurt's premier residential districts.^[3]
