Bet Debora is a European Jewish women’s network which was started in Germany in 1998 by a group of Jewish feminists who wanted to create a platform for European Jewish women activists to present and discuss new female approaches to Judaism and Jewish heritage Founded in Berlin in 1998, Bet Debora is an entirely voluntary European Jewish women’s initiative that seeks to contribute to the renewal of Jewish life in Europe, support Jewish women’s studies, promote a Jewish-feminist consciousness and thereby also the presence of women within Jewish Community leadership, maintain Jewish women’s heritage, work towards inter-religious dialogue and establish a European network of Jewish women. Bet Debora has developed into a forum for exchange between Jewish women across Europe, open to women, be they activists from any stream of Judaism, artists, scholars, rabbis, cantors, or Community officials. Bet Debora has organized seven major conferences (in Berlin, Budapest, Sofia, Vienna and Hoddesdon near London, Worclaw). The non-profit Berlin-based Bet Debora Association organizes bimonthly educational lectures, panels, and discussions open to the public. https://www.bet-debora.net/contents/uploads/2014/04/inta.pdfref> PublicationsConference of European Women Rabbis, Cantors, Rabbinically Educated and Interested Jewish Women and Men.
