He is the first bishop of the International Diocese of the Anglican Church in North America. Atwood was consecrated a bishop in Kenya in 2007 by bishops in the Anglican Church of Kenya.[2] Atwood was later made the first bishop of the International Diocese when they were founded in 2009.
