Having started as a newspaper cartoonist[2], he is best known as the creator of "Two Little Nuns", a single panel series covering the adventures of Sister Colleen and Sister Maureen, which launched in the Catholic magazine Extension, and continued their adventures in a series of original books. LawsuitO'Malley left Extension due to a disagreement over pay, which became a lawsuit over the copyrights in his work. O'Malley vs. Catholic Church Extension Society went to court in 1954,[3] and involved Joseph Eichberger, who under the pen name "Joe Lane" did nun cartoons for Extension after O'Malley's departure.[4] PublicationsSeveral books of O'Malley's cartoons were published, including both books collecting previously-published cartoons and original books of new cartoons.
