   Biopharm Chemical Co., Ltd. (pronounced /baɪəʊfɑːrm^[1]/) is a Thai pharmaceutical merchandising and developing company founded for more than four decades. Biopharm have produced and handed products to both domestic and international consumers, provided by their own manufacturing company “Biolab Co., Ltd.” certified with the ISO 9001^[2] and is the first company in South East Asia to accomplish the superior standard manufacturing system from Good Manufacturing Practice^[3] (GMP).

The company has a variety of products sold in hospitals and department stores, such as Belcid Forte (Antacid), Pantaprol (Antacid), Livalo (Lipid-Lowering), Monem (Antibacterial), etc.

CSR and Charity Activities

Code of Conduct

Biopharm Chemical Co., Ltd. developed the code of conduct regarding the merchandising and marketing in hospital area since 2013. It is focusing on accountable transactions, aiming at educating the medical practitioners in a professional way. The aim is to be fully responsible for accurate and theoretical information and knowledge with the main goal to let all related customers and the company’s employees agree on the code of conduct and take them as the principles in pharmaceutical sale marketing.

On 2 July 2018, Biopharm Chemicals Co., Ltd. has announced to activate the Code of Conduct in pharmaceutical sale marketing to answer the country’s strategic plan. The company has started developing morality in sale promotion since 2013. Training and evaluating on morality, including moral principle knowledge test held by Thai Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (TPMA), were taken by all of the company’s personnel to build a good understanding in the moral principle and to professionally treat the qualified products to the consumers.

Certifications and Awards

PIC/S or Pharmaceuitical Inspection Co-operation Scheme                     

PIC/S GMP is an International Conference on Harmonisation of pharmaceutical regulations of the European Medicines. It is a voluntary reception to follow the same regulations for countries outside Europe, which can infer that every member country is of the same standard to the members from the European Union. In Thailand, Food and Drug Administration is the 49th member of the PIC/S GMP.

To be certified by PIC/S is to answer the policy of Thai Food and Drug Administration on authorising the manufacturing processes and system control to meet the standard according to the  Act of Parliament and the resolution from the stated lawful committee.

The production standard development of Biolab manufacture is the main mission to maintain the position of a supplement and pharmaceutical market leader. Biolab is also guaranteed from a number of leading associations which shows the advance vision and the real leadership. We have continuously elevated the production standard to meet the certificates we have equipped since the GMP from the Food and Drug committee office from 2009 on, to the latest standard certified from Germany.

Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is the association that plays the most important role in maintaining safety and wellbeing of the consumers in products related to health such as food, drugs, cosmetics, medical tools, household hazardous objects, and community’s health products. Thai FDA has the policy to examine every process in production, before and after proceeding to the market to make sure that consumers receive safe health products meeting the quality and the standard. Ones of the FDA’s policy are to encourage both macro and micro-entrepreneurs to develop and rectify the manufacturing location to meet the lawful standard, to bring off products that are correctly labeled, and harmless to consumers, to lawfully advertise, and the FDA also expects the entrepreneurs to take responsibility for the society and to conduct the business with morality and principles.

The Food and Drug Administration Quality Award by the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

In 2009, Thai FDA has suggested the Morality Building in Health Product Entrepreneurs project for the first time and started awarding the Food and Drug Administration Quality Award to manufacturers that met the moral principle, standard, and safely in health product production. This award is for praising and encouraging those entrepreneurs who have run qualified procedures in producing health products, and also to urge the health product entrepreneurs to bring out good-quality healthcare products and to be aware of consumers’ safety in every procedure. Since 2009, Biolab has won the FDA Quality Award for 6 years in total which were in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2018.
