Karki began his career with stage plays in his village Bahuni with his elder brother Arjun Karki, than he met with Nepalese actor Kamal Mani Nepal who took him to Gurukul Theatre in Kathmandu. He came to Gurukul Theatre too often to be recognized by Sunil Pokharel which led him to play some stage plays.^[2]In 2012 he appeared in Nischal Basnet's Loot (2012) in a short role of a gangster. Karki made his debut from Chhadke in a supporting role of Bindu.^[3]
