释义 |
Blue Wave 2018 is a political advocacy movement of liberal Democrats in the United States of America with an initial mission to elect Democrats during the 2018 mid-term elections.[1] The term may have originated with women's advocacy groups which strongly opposed the Trump administration and his nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.[2] Active in this movement to support Democrats' candidacies for election during the November 6, 2018 mid-terms was the group Liberal Women of Chesterfield County, based in Chesterfield County, Virginia, and founded as a Facebook page by Kim Drew Wright.[3][4] Also involved in the evolution of the term Blue Wave was the previously formed "90 for 90" group organized in honor of Dr.William Ferguson Reid which opposed widespread gerrymandering and engaged in efforts to increase the numbers of voters in the 7th Congressional District of Virginia. Both Democrats and Republicans have created Facebook memes, billboards, and posters relating to the Blue Wave, some favoring Democratic victory and others in opposition.[5][6] References1. ^{{cite news |last1=Norlian |first1=Allison |title='Liberal Women of Chesterfield County' works to change politics |url=http://www.nbc12.com/story/38922616/liberal-women-of-chesterfield-county-works-to-change-politics/ |accessdate=26 October 2018}} 2. ^{{cite news |last1=Fleishman |first1=Jeffrey |title=Cultural Divide: Books, poems and the Doors inspire liberal women in Virginia against Trump and conservatives - Los Angeles Times |url=http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-ca-liberal-women-chesterfield-county-cultural-divide-20181011-story.html |accessdate=26 October 2018 |work=latimes.com}} 3. ^{{cite web |title=Why a historically conservative county in Virginia is making national Republicans nervous |url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-politics/why-a-historically-conservative-county-in-virginia-is-making-national-republicans-nervous/2017/11/25/654a90f4-cbbb-11e7-8321-481fd63f174d_story.html?utm_term=.2923923a1e5f |website=Washington Post |accessdate=26 October 2018 |language=en}} 4. ^{{cite news |title=Meet the liberal women who are angry, engaged and ready to vote |url=https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/04/politics/virginia-liberal-women-weir/index.html |accessdate=26 October 2018 |work=CNN}} 5. ^{{cite web |title=blue wave meme - Google Search |url=https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=blue+wave+meme&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 |website=www.google.com |accessdate=26 October 2018 |language=en}} 6. ^{{cite web |last1=Levine |first1=Carrie |title=How ActBlue Is Trying To Turn Small Donations Into A Blue Wave |url=https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-actblue-is-trying-to-turn-small-donations-into-a-blue-wave/ |website=FiveThirtyEight |accessdate=26 October 2018 |date=25 October 2018}} External links
