释义 |
The Bolefuego o Candileja, (The Fireball Spirit in english) common in the Colombia LegendIt is said to be the spirit of a woman who burned alive in her own home together with her two children. Attacks the travelers, who should not pray before their presence, on the contrary they should curse it; Because unlike other cursed beings, The Bolefuego is attracted to prayers. You can avoid their pursuit by wearing the sleep cape or lying on your stomach until you get away. Another version says that the woman was called Candelaria who had a husband named Don Esteban who was partying, drinker and womanizing, musician and extraordinary coplero. From this union two sons were born men, the first one took the name of Sigifredo and the second inherited the one of its father, Esteban. One good day, Don Esteban got ready to go to a San Pascual Bailón, a name given on the plain to the savanna parties, but for reasons that only he knew, he did not want to take his wife Candelaria, a situation that aroused violent disgust in the beautiful Creole woman, and so much would be her anger, that he took the fatal decision that if Esteban did not take it, then he would not go either to this one or to any other San Pascual Bailón. Without thinking twice, Candelaria took an ax to split wood and in the presence of her two sons killed her husband, forcing her two offspring to help her to bury him in the savannah.. With the passing of time, the widow Candelaria died and when she went up with the Supreme Lord to answer for their acts, he punished her by condemning her to wander on the savannas, turned into a ball of fire, which loses the walkers. Another version says that it is the spirit of a woman who beheaded her only son who was going to be a bishop, for which she was condemned to wander on the roads, turned into a ball of fire, that loses the walkers. It appears frequently in the summer months, so it is said, in the mouths of less believers, that the bolefuego is a product of the optical illusion, produced perhaps by the reflection of the sun in the dry savannas during the hot summer.
