BiographyBrooke Pierson was born in Toledo, Ohio and grew up in Howell, Michigan where he attended Howell High School. He grew up in a musical household where he experimented with improvisation on the piano from an early age. Mostly self taught, Pierson briefly took piano lessons before joining the middle school band; playing the trombone and eventually tuba. In high school he performed with the marching band, jazz band, concert band, musical theater, and several school choirs. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2009 with a degree in Music Education and briefly worked as the band director at Sexton High School in Lansing, Michigan before accepting his current position as fine arts chair, and instrumental music and composition teacher for the Washtenaw International High School and Middle Academy located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. From 2007 to 2015 he also worked as choir director and organist at Grace Lutheran Church in his home town of Howell.
