The Bulgari were a noble family from Corfu during the era of Venetian Rule in the Ionian Islands.^[1] ^[2] The root of the surname Voulgaris is Βούλγαρ (Voulgar), which means "Bulgarian" in Greek.^[3] Among their modern descendants are the founders of Bvlgari Jewelry.
