Canto is a multinational computer software company based in San Francisco, California. It sells enterprise computer software and services. Canto sells two digital asset management software solutions for enterprises including the cloud-based SaaS product Canto and on-premise Cumulus.

The company is known best for its pioneering computer software and tools. Canto began as a company that changed the way users could search for specific elements in images. Since then it has expanded to include comprehensive enterprise software systems for digital assets.

Canto began in 1990 in Berlin and was founded by Thomas Schleu and began with the scanning product Cirrus. In 1992 Cumulus was created to help users store the images scanned.

In 2014, Canto moved to a cloud-based platform, boosting the ease-of-use of its digital asset management system for companies.
