Rabbanit Chana Henkin is a modern Jewish leader. She is the founder and head of Nishmat, the Institute for Advanced Jewish Studies for Women.[1] She is a central figure in the movement for Yoatzot Halacha, or women Halachic consultants. Henkin is a graduate of Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women and Bernard Revel Graduate School for Jewish Studies. She received Honorary Doctorates from both Bar Ilan and Yeshiva University, and was awarded Israel's Agrest Prize from the Ministry for Education[2]. She lives with her husband, Rabbi Yehuda Henkin, in Jerusalem.
