He is more popularly known as Chino, a nickname he received from his parents. He is the founder and Chairman of Next One Corporate Holdings, Inc. (NOCH Inc.) which has business interests in water, energy, real estate, finance and technology. He is the founder of NOCH Foundation, which helps underpriviledged youth through sports. He was awarded a Chevening Scholarship[1] by the United Kingom's Foreign and Commonwealth Office and is presently taking his postgraduate degree in International Finance and Development at SOAS, University of London. Early lifePastor is the son of Serio Pastor and Maria Rosario Bernabe Pastor, and is the second of 4 children. He attended the Ateneo De Manila University for his primary and secondary education, where is was a consistent honor student. He regularly represented his school for Mathematics competitions, and was awarded as the best in the country on multiple occassions. He competed in basketball, baseball, football and golf from an early age and developed his passion for sports. He graduated with a degree in the Honors Program Bsc Management Engineering from the Ateneo De Manila University. He is also a past commisioner of the Philippine Flag Football League.[2] Finance & EntrepreneurshipPastor worked in UnionBank of the Philippines and Standard Chartered Bank in Manila, primarily as a bond, interest rate and derivatives trader. This is when he developed a reputation as a well-respected but ruthless trader, earning him the nickname (or street name) "Noch" (variations are "Nochi", "Nocher"). After almost 5 years in the industry, he left altogether saying, "I'm tired of making other people rich." Still passionate about trading, he continued as a day trader in stocks and currencies with his own portfolio. Pastor entered the water Utilities sector, inspired by the careers of his father and grandmother who have been in the business for over 40 years. His water infrastructure portfolio includes water supply and wastewater systems in Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas and Davao region, as well as a hydroelectric power plants in Northern Luzon. His other business interests include real estate development and investments in technology startups.
