He would meet notability via an Emmy award, but I was unable to find a source; he's not listed on the Emmy site. JSFarman (talk) 22:37, 26 October 2018 (UTC)}}

}}Christopher Dominic Giordano (born December 28, 1961) is a writer, director and producer of commercial Emmy award winning network television programs, feature films, and live theatricals including The Magic of David Copperfield, The Dana Carvey Show, and The Dai Show.

Early Years

Giordano was born in Torrance, California, the son of Judith and Joseph Giordano. While at the California State University of Fullerton he became a founding director of the not-for-profit Occupational Therapy program Project Magic. While completing college in 1983 he began working with David Copperfield as his General Manager and Production Executive. {{cn}}

Career

Toward the end of his college career, Giordano began working with illusionist David Copperfield. Soon afterwards he became Copperfield's General Manager and Production Executive, responsible for collaborating on all aspects of Copperfield's business including the production and management of a 500 plus show-per-year annual international touring schedule as well as multi-Emmy winning network television specials for CBS, which included a ground-breaking exchange with the Chinese government. {{cn}}

Giordano's collaboration with Copperfield include the levitation over the Grand Canyon (1984), the walk through the Great Wall of China (1986), the escape from Alcatraz prison (1987), the escape from the Bermuda Triangle.[1] (1989), the escape from an exploding building (1988), the Niagara Falls challenge (1990), and the disappearance of the Orient Express train (1991).

Throughout his years with Copperfield, Giordano continued his commitment to community programs through his activities with Project Magic, which grew to being active in over 500 institutions in 30 countries around the world.{{cn}}

In 1992, Giordano produced the first prime time HD TV special Liza Live at Radio City Music Hall starring Liza Minnelli[2][3]. In 1993 he directed the one-man show Mind Games starring James Mapes at The Westport Country Playhouse [4]. In 1996 he was on the producing team of the controversial prime-time ABC TV series The Dana Carvey Show[5][6]. And in 1999 he produced the indie feature film Suits[7].

As an industry executive, from 1996 to 1999 Giordano served as Executive Vice President and General Manager for Dodger Endemol, the American arm of the international entertainment company (now Stage Entertainment), where he developed the New York and European productions of Savion Glover's Live Communication and collaborated on the development of Show Biz City, a multi-media and live entertainment complex in Amsterdam, as well as the company’s roster of Broadway and touring productions. From 1999 to 2003 Giordano served as Vice President and Producer for the Creative Development department of Cablevision’s Radio City Entertainment, where he was on the team responsible for revising the production and marketing model for the international touring show, Christmas Spectacular, which more than doubled their business in a two-year period. {{cn}}

In 2008, Giordano joined the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group as its Head of Concept Development and Creative Producer based out of its headquarters in La Louvière, Belgium. During his time with Dragone he developed, produced and collaborated on numerous projects including the touring big top show India, the adaptation of the Las Vegas Wynn Hotel spectacle Le Rêve, multiple seasons of the Macau City of Dreams cabaret Taboo, the creation of a new edition of the Paris cabaret Le Lido and the development of The Dai Show in Xishuangbanna, China, a collaboration with Chinese developer Wanda[8]. In addition, Giordano's collaboration with Franco Dragone led to the 2007 collaboration on the adaptation of Carmen at the La Jolla Playhouse.[9][10]

Giordano is the co-writer, director, and producer of Running Subway's long running (2008 - present) Judy Garland in Concert[11], a multi-media symphonic experience that has played the London Palladium as well as numerous cities throughout North America,[12][13] and is viewed as a ground-breaking production {{by whom?}} in the genre of celebrity legacy concert experiences[14]

Community Activism

In 2017, Giordano and a core group of community members began the process of creating the 65th and 66th Streets Block Association whose mission is to promote neighborhood harmony, quality of life and safety through collaborative planning, community action, and policy advocacy. In April 2018 Giordano was elected the Block Association's founding President. Through his position Giordano has focused on zoning and construction, noise pollution, traffic and illegal parking, delivery bikes, NYPD 20th Police Precinct relations (for which he is a Neighborhood Coordination Officer liaison), and dialogue with elected officials and government agencies.[15]
