Code for Teens: The Awesome Beginner’s Guide to ProgrammingCode for Teens: The Awesome Beginner’s Guide to Programming, also known simply as Code for Teens, is an instructional book intended to teach youths the basics of coding in JavaScript. It was published in July 2018 by Mascot Books.^[1]

Development

Moritz first decided to write Code for Teens when he found that all the instructional books on coding, despite intended audience, moved far to quickly for the average teenager to read. Instead, Jeremy wrote the material and lessons at a slightly slower pace, knowing that a student would most likely not be able to go to their parents for guidance.

The first book in the series focuses on Java Script, with future editions planned to cover other programming languages.

The book was developed along with Jeremy's wife, Christine, who handled the illustrations.^[2]

Reception

Reviews for Code for Teens book have been positive. Tos Chareen from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine called it a "beautifully created book introducing teens to coding".^[3]

Home School Review Crew awarded Code for Teens their 2018 Blue Ribbon Award for Favorite Elective Curriculum.^[4]
