CodeVA is a Virginia non-profit with the mission of bringing Computer Science Education to all students K-12 in Virginia. Founded in 2014 it serves Virginia schools through advocacy for computer science policy, teacher training and student programs through its Eureka workshop.[1] In 2016 Virginia passed legislation making computer science a core subject, mandating it be integrated into instruction from kindergarten through eighth grade.[2] CodeVA was instrumental to passing this legislation, and worked closely with the Virginia Department of Education in writing the new Computer Science Standards of Learning.[3] In 2017 CodeVA worked with the Virginia Lottery to produce the [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eoj7RCjk0vg The Digital Dominion] video spotlighting the unique place Virginia holds in computer science opportunities. Teacher TrainingCodeVA offers training for public school teachers from elementary through high school. It works with multiple national partners to provide training to public school teachers.
