The firm employs fundamental analysis with bottom-up approach focusing on factors such as strong balance sheet, high ROE, revenue growth, and strong cash flows. It benchmarks the performance of its portfolios against the S&P 500 Index, Russell Mid Cap Growth Index, the Russell 3000 Growth Index, the Russell 3000 Index, Barclays Capital Intermediate U S Government Credit Index, Barclays 1-5 Year Government Credit A+ Index, Barclays Intermediate Credit Index, Barclays U.S. Aggregate Index, and Barclays U.S. Long Credit Index. The firm also makes direct and private equity fund investments. Congress Asset Management Company, LLP was founded on January 1, 1985 and is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
