Connecting Software is a software company which produces integration, synchronization and productivity solutions for various business processes^[1]. The company’s focus is on simplifying software integration through applying pre-built connectors which translate one programming interface to another.

Connecting Software has several awards from Microsoft and holds 2015 Microsoft Partner of the Year Finalist Award^[2] for Windows 8 Custom App Developer Category.

With the headquarters in Vienna, the company also has offices in the United States, Slovakia, and Portugal.

History

Connecting Software was established in 2007 in Vienna by entrepreneur Thomas Berndorfer^[3]. It was self-financed using the income generated by the entrepreneur’s previous success with CNS Group. Currently, the company is owned by Thomas Berndorfer and his wife Maria Berndorfer.

The first IT hub was founded in Slovakia, and in 2009 the team started the development of the Connect Bridge platform. It was launched two years later.

To meet the increasing demand for the software, in 2013 the company opened its subsidiary in Denver, Colorado, and another development hub on the island of Madeira^[4], Portugal, in 2017.

Connect Bridge Platform

Launched in 2012, the company's Connect Bridge platform^[5] allows developers to build custom connectors and integrate software as a service (SaaS), on-premise and hybrid, and synchronize modern and legacy systems in the same way. Connect Bridge acts as a translator service and helps APIs of various applications understand each other. Such integration requires only basic programming knowledge from a developer as the platform works through SQL syntax, one of the most widely used database language.

Products

Based on the Connect Bridge platform, the company has built several ready-to-use solutions.

• CB Dynamics CRM Privileges to SharePoint Permissions Replicator synchronises privileges and permissions from Dynamics CRM to SharePoint allowing protection of sensitive data.
• CB Exchange Server Sync^[6] synchronises different accounts of Exchange ensuring the integration of calendars, contacts, emails, tasks etc.
• Document Extractor Built for Salesforce platform™ transfers bulky data from the CRM service into SharePoint saving costs on cloud storage and ensuring compliance with data protection regulation.
• CB SharePoint Exchange Sync integrates SharePoint with Exchange accounts and automatically matches tasks, calendars, contacts and allows email and document backup.
• OPC UA Connector is a solution for the Industrial Internet of Things (IioT). It integrates data from machinery with back-office business systems for easy visualization, interpretation and more effective business flow.

Connecting Software has clients in various industries in more than 100 countries around the globe with most prominent ones being the Department of Justice Canada, House of Commons Canada, New Zealand Government, Securitas, Ivanhoé Cambridge, Sabert, LoboDMS, and others.
